March 15, 101P.A.
Takeo, Shonen, Ryoko, and Orihime approach the grisly looking man that seems to be giving all the orders. Takeo introduces himself to Captain Swasbuck, and asks if they can hitch a ride to the next island, Shikoku. Capt. Swasbuck says, "nobody rides for free." The party then rummage through their belongings and offer items in trade. For the four of them to get passage aboard the ship it cost them, 2 knifes and 2 Silver Bracelets. The party rides in one of the cargo bays as the sail across the small section of ocean that separates the two islands. When the arrive on the island of Shikoku they are dropped of in a very secluded part of the island, with make shift docks clearly for smugglers. Having no other form of transport the four set out on foot, headed in the general direction of the new empire. After walking a few hours they come across a sign that leads them to Dok City a small city on the coast with heavy boat traffic. Although it is a very small city with barely any tech, it appears huge and very advanced to the party as they have never set foot in a city before.
The party walks through the town, when they come across a bar/inn they stop to have a drink. Takeo orders a whiskey, double. Shonen has one as well and Ryoko has a triple. Takeo asks the bartender about passage to the mainland, the bartender tells him lots of ships come through here. They then pay for a room and the three go to spend the night. In the morning they wake up and the bar is still filled with drunk low lives, Ryoko is already down stairs drinking and has befriended a very sharply dressed man. The man sticks out like a sore thumb in this place with his expensive suit. Never the less him and Ryoko are laughing it up at the expense of a local drunk thug. The thug has had enough and gets up to exchange words with the old man. The nicely dressed man steps between them and gets shoved down, as the thug draws a pistol and shoots the old monk. Takeo and Shonen see this from the balcony upstairs, they immediately jump down and begin to dispatch of the gunman and a couple of his gang while the rest run away. After Shonen did some light healing touch on Ryoko, they go out on to the street and see this town in the daylight for the first time. The well dressed man tell him that his name is Chaz and they can go back to his place to rest. Surely that gang would return with more men. Takeo rests back at Chaz's place while Shonen does some healing touch on him. Chaz and Takeo talk, Takeo tell his story and Chaz offers some information on what he has heard of the Demon Queller Society and gives Takeo a H-brand H-10 Laser Pistol and shows him how to use it. But most importantly Chaz tells them that he can get them passage to the main land if they were willing to travel with him. He will be leaving tomorrow and that he has to make a stop first. They agree. Takeo goes out in to the city, everything is very low level tech but it amazes him all the same. A police officer approaches Takeo, unknowing of the customs he mouths off and disregards the police office. The Police Officer pulls out a stun gun and shoots Takeo.
Takeo wakes up in a jail cell and must pay a 10,000 credit fine for disorderly conduct. He then visits the shops and purchases a vibro-katana, explosive arrows, blow darts, and a case for his father's sword. Then he returns and they leave the following day. They arrive at Guarded City a small area not far outside Dok City where all the commercial ships and travels must go through. (like a huge TSA checkpoint) While waiting to enter the city someone pick pockets Takeo, but he notices so he calls lightning on the thief as he runs away incinerating him. Once in Chaz talks to all the guards that they pass and tells them that they are family traveling to visit more family. At the final station Chaz slips the guard some gold. and they are allowed in. Once in they see many huge docks and buildings and lots of people loading and unloading from boats. Chaz takes the to a hotel and gets a room. He tells them that he has business to attend to that he will be back 10am tomorrow. The following morning Takeo gets up early and wanders the village. He finds a TW store and is facinated. The shop keeper offers Takeo a job in exchange for a weapon. Takeo accepts, then rushes back to meet with Chaz. He arrives to see Chaz talking to the others, he starts saying that they should be leaving "NOW!" he has acquired a ride to the main land. Just as they head for the ship there is a huge explosion at one of the taller buildings in town. Chaz hurries them along.
