August 27, 101 P.A.

Trevor Burnside, a psi-tech from the Chi-Town burbs, finds himself driving his ATV down a dirt road on Shikoku Island -Japan. Trevor seems to have made a name for himself designing all sorts of technology, and someone in Japan seems to have noticed. A few months back Trevor had received a contract to produce a very rare pre-rifts weapons system, and now he finds himself delivering it. After a few hours of driving, Trevor sees some smoke and drives up to the smoldering remains of a fishing village. He disembarks and meets Takeo Takahido, Demon Queller, and Shonen Kiske, Warrior Monk, along with Sam Hi the village elder. Trevor and Takeo trade stories, Takeo tells Trevor that he is headed to the Millennium Tree on a quest to take his brother to a monastery there. Takeo tells him all about his travels, and that he has just made a deal for a boat to travel to the mainland. Trevor tells Takeo that he must deliver something to Takamatsu City. Takeo knows where the City is and offers to take Trevor there. Trevor knows he will be needing to find a ride back later as well.  So he makes a deal to travel with Takeo, in exchange for fixing the boat they had just bartered for, Trevor fixes and soups up the boat, over a few days time. Then the three of them get in the ATV and drive to Takamatsu City. Along the way they pass a leyline where they see group of Devilkin camping out. Trevor and Takeo choose to avoid these Devilkin.

As they begin to enter the outer areas of Takamatsu City and old lady with a walker crosses the road in front of Trevor. Trevor is traveling too fast (epic dice roll fail) and completely red mists the old lady. As Trevor begins to slow down, they hear "GRANDMAAA!!!" and out the back window they see and gang of thugs carrying heavy laser weapons come creeping out of everywhere. The thugs were waiting to ambush the vehicle when it stopped for the old woman, the thugs begin firing in their direction, Trevor speeds away with out taking damage to the vehicle. Trevor continues to drive further into town, along the way they pass a police vehicle. The police vehicle doesn't seem to notice the blood on the ATV, but the party now thinks its a good idea to clean it off. They do so, and continue on their way. Trevor follows the directions for delivery he was given. So he rents a room at the Riz Hotel, waits 10 hours then he drives to the address he was given. He parks in the parking garage and tells Takeo to wait as he goes in. Trevor meets his contractor, a man named Hagi. Trevor makes his trade with Hagi. Hagi tells Trevor,  "There is more work for you if you so choose, please stay in Japan there is money to be made, there is much going on now, and those bastards have been working with demons this whole time... I'll be in touch." Trevor returns to his ATV.

Trevor starts his ATV and starts driving when the lights go out and the engine stops. A figure of a man approaches the vehicle. The party sits and waits, when the man is in sight he says, "Takeo, my friend. please come out and speak with me. We have business to discuss and you are my friend." Takeo is once again charmed by Crowley. Takeo and Crowley talk. "You never finished your end of the deal we made." Takeo tells him about the head in the bag and the police. Crowley says, "Oh I swear I had no idea, if only i knew, I'm so sorry. Well anyway you still owe me, and I need someone to travel to the millennium tree and bring me a leaf from it. Can you do this? and we will be even." Takeo is compelled to complete his deal, so he accepts the new offer. Again the deal is sealed with a handshake and Takeo feels the same little jolt of electricity when the pact is made. Then they hear a sound from elsewhere in the garage. The party turns to look, when they turn back Crowley is gone. and the lights come back on. Trevor is able to start the engine right up. They begin on their way straight out of town, when they run out of fuel. Stranded on the side of the road, a partial conversion cyber-samurai and a full conversion ninja-borg approach the vehicle and introduce them selves as 2 of the elite 6 assassins. They seem to know exactly who the party members are, and they ask Trevor for the weapons system. Trevor denies knowing anything about it.

Just as a fight between the party and the borgs is about to breakout, the roar of a motorcycle draws their attention. They see M.C. Hammer a Psi-Nulifier/Road Sentinel, able to wield two handed weapons with one, he rides up wielding his shotgun. Without warning he opens fire on one of the borgs. A fight breaks out and the party along with M.C. Hammer prove to be too much for the 2 assassins. Afterward M.C. Hammer introduces himself and tells them that he is but a traveler riding around the world dispensing justice as he sees fit. He tells them he has had run ins with the scum of this city before, and he just had to help. He then gives them some gas and they travel back to his hideout. After explaining that the 2 assassins are high profile people, M.C. tells them they shouldn't stay here. Trevor fills his gas tank and the party leaves the city. On their way out they see a missile come shooting across the sky. Trevor immediately recognizes the weapon for which he designed a targeting system for. The missile maneuvers flawlessly and strikes one of the two towers in the center of the city.

They return to the fishing village, board the ship, and leave for the main land. Along the way they see a Horune Dream Ship, with the souped up boat of theirs they manage to out run the Dream Ship. The Horune launch 2 strike ships that are fast enough to catch the party. The party targets the pilots of the strike ships managing to slow them down enough to escape. The party reaches the coast line, and see a mist across the land. They anchor the boat and go ashore. When they are there they see a large stone wall the seems to spread across as far down the coast as the eye can see. Takeo and Trevor attempt to climb the wall, as soon as they touch it, it begins to grow. The stones on the wall multiply and begin to grow over attempting to engulf them. They manage to get off the wall and take minimal damage from falling rocks. M.C. Hammer then attempts to climb the wall. As he touches it he negates the magical effects and is able to easily climb the wall and sit on top of it. While he sits on the wall he tells them to use explosives to make a hole. They do so, and the wall doesn't grow back since M.C. Hammer is negating the magic. The party grabs all the stuff and crosses the first of the 9 barrier rings around the capital Kyoto.
